Irish co-op Tirlán has published its harvest prices: €220 a tonne for green feed barley and €230/t for green feed wheat, including a €10/t trading bonus. Last year it paid €190/t and €200/t.

The harvest itself fell well short of last year. Tirlán took in about 190,000 tonnes of grain, against almost 223,000 tonnes in 2025, which had been 45,000 tonnes up on 2024.

The co-op has earmarked €2 million in bonuses for premium crops, including malting barley, gluten-free oats, winter Cassia barley and high erucic acid rapeseed, and says more than 42 percent of its intake will qualify for a premium. Chair Ger O'Brien praised growers' "remarkable resilience" against input costs and market volatility, and urged livestock farmers to choose feed made from Irish grain to support the domestic tillage sector.
