Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has come to work at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon in the capital for the first time.

His motorcade reached the office premises at 10:10am on Saturday (21 February), creating a festive atmosphere there.

That day the prime minister planted a swarnachampa flower sapling in the grounds of the Prime Minister's Office. After planting it, he offered thanks to Almighty Allah and took part in a special munajat (prayer).

Earlier, on Wednesday (18 February), Prime Minister Tarique Rahman worked at the Secretariat for the first time, entering it at around 12:30pm. That morning he had paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar, beginning his first day's programme as prime minister.

After his first day at work he left the centre of the administration at 7:36pm. His first office day passed in a busy schedule and several meetings; Prime Minister Tarique Rahman worked at the Secretariat for seven hours that day.
