Md Tarek Rahman, member secretary of the Amjanatar Dal, was once an information technology (ICT) businessman. Under the ousted Awami League government he tried repeatedly for a government job and failed despite sitting viva after viva. At one point he started a mango business to escape hunger and poverty. He has alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami "brothers" harassed him most in that business by placing fake orders.

He made the allegation in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday, 1 April.

Tarek Rahman wrote about how f-commerce using social media was faring. "Last year I boosted some posts. I was taking zero advance on cash on delivery, and a lot of orders were coming in. But about 10 per cent were fake orders: they would take it if they felt like it, and if not, they would not answer the phone. Later, when I started taking an advance of Tk 500, orders fell but the losses stopped."

He alleged that the Jamaat brothers harassed him most with fake orders. Unable to hold their own in political rivalry, they set out to damage his business, he said.

Giving a real example, Tarek Rahman wrote that the wife of a deed-writer ordered Gopalbhog mangoes and found them medium-sized. Gopalbhog is a rather small mango, but very sweet. To take revenge on him, she ordered 2 maunds of mangoes, and he delivered them without an advance. Then she would not take them.

When he complained to the police station, the police understood it was harassment and called the couple in. The couple wept, asking what they would do with two maunds of mangoes, and apologised. In front of the police the deed-writer couple opened the mango boxes, and the policemen ate two mangoes to test them. Because the mangoes were tasty and sweet, the police gave the couple 10kg and kept all the rest, paying for them.
