A two-year-old girl named Taslima has died after being bitten by a snake while playing in the courtyard of her home in Mirzapur, Tangail.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon (16 May) in Bawar Kumarjani village in Mirzapur municipality. Taslima was the daughter of Shamim Mia of Bawar Kumarjani Madhyapara village.

Family members said a venomous snake bit Taslima while she was playing in the courtyard in the afternoon, and her grandmother saw it happen. The child was taken to Kumudini Hospital, where a doctor declared her dead.

Animesh Bhowmik, deputy director of Kumudini Hospital, confirmed the death.
