The Forest Department has rescued a deer caught in a poachers' trap and released it into the Sundarbans. The deer was rescued on the morning of Saturday, 22 March, from the Kainmari canal area of the Satkhira range of the Sundarbans West Forest Division. It was later released in the area of the Kateshwar patrol outpost in the Sundarbans.

Md Ziaur Rahman, the Forest Department's Burigoalini station officer, told Jago News that members of the Kateshwar patrol outpost spotted traps set by deer poachers in the Kainmari canal area. The team then rescued a live deer, still in the trap, from deep in the forest. A boat was also seized from the spot.

He said the deer, which had been caught in a trap set by poachers inside the forest, was released in the Kateshwar patrol outpost area of the Sundarbans.
