Two baghair catfish weighing 31 kg together went on sale at the market in Singra, Natore, and curious crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of them. Fish trader Ismail Hossain of Dhunat upazila, Bogura, brought them to the upazila premises to sell on Wednesday morning.

The two fish were caught in the Jamuna river, after which Ismail Hossain bought them and brought them to Singra. The larger fish weighed 20 kg and the smaller 11 kg. The smaller one was bought at Tk 800 a kg by Abdus Sobhan of Shaharbari village, while several people together bought the larger one at Tk 1,000 a kg.

Ismail Hossain said: "I have been in the fish trade for nearly 55 years. I bring big fish, including baghair, to Singra. I am very happy that the two fish have been sold."
