A schoolboy named Ifat Mia, 13, has died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur.
The incident took place at around 6:30pm on 12 June in the Nama Hatipagar area of Nayabil union in the upazila. Ifat was the son of Delu Mia of the area.
Declared dead at hospital
Family members and locals said a venomous snake suddenly bit Ifat when he went to the pond bank in front of his home on Friday evening. His family rushed him to Nalitabari Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead after examination.
The doctor on duty at Nalitabari Upazila Health Complex confirmed the death.
