Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent Bangladeshi mangoes as a token of goodwill to Malaysia's King, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Officials of Istana Negara and the Prime Minister's Office received the mangoes on behalf of the King and the Prime Minister respectively.

Under the supervision of the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, 1,000 kg of mangoes were also sent to ministers of important ministries, heads of political parties, senior government officials, businesspeople, journalists and deputy heads of various diplomatic missions.

The High Commission said the Prime Minister's gift reflects the fraternal relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia. It expressed hope that the initiative will further strengthen bilateral ties and help promote Bangladeshi mangoes and farm products in Malaysia as having good potential.
