A security guard, Md Moazzem Hossain Bhuiyan, 55, died after falling from a tree while picking mangoes. The incident happened at around 3:30pm on 5 May in the Jamtola area of Rampura in the capital.

His wife, Salma Begum, said: "My husband worked as a security guard at a house. Today the owner of the house took my husband to pick mangoes. He climbed the tree to pick mangoes and fell. He was rescued seriously injured and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead."

His home village was in Kasba, Brahmanbaria. He lived in a rented home with his family in the Jamtola area of Rampura.

Md Bachchu Mia, inspector in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the death and said the body had been kept in the morgue of the hospital's emergency department for a post-mortem. The police station concerned has been informed.
