A man named Abdur Razzak, 55, was killed in a clash between two sides over a family dispute and the picking of mangoes in Mohanpur, Rajshahi. Several people on both sides were injured. The situation is now under the administration's control.

The incident took place at around 7:30pm on Saturday, 27 June, in Harihorpara village of Mougachhi union in the upazila. Abdur Razzak was the son of Bhugar Mondal of the same village.

Local sources said an argument broke out between the two sides over a long-running family dispute and the picking of mangoes. At one point it turned into a clash and Abdur Razzak was seriously injured. He died on the way to hospital. Several others were hurt and are being treated at a local hospital and at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Mohanpur police brought the situation under control, and extra police have been deployed in the area. Police said an investigation is under way to establish the actual cause and legal action will be taken against those involved.

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mohanpur police station, said: "The situation has come under control. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation."
