A case has been filed in Rajshahi against two content creators for posting videos of eating herons and wild ducks. The accused are Al-Amin Sohag and Tuli.

The case was filed with Rajshahi Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2 on Monday 3 February by Md Jahangir Kabir, wildlife inspector of the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division, Rajshahi, at the divisional forest officer's office.

According to the case statement, the two content creators, Al-Amin and Tuli, published videos of 33 seconds and 54 seconds showing two kinds of migratory bird, the kanibok (pond heron) and the pati sarali (lesser whistling duck), being slaughtered and roasted to eat.

When forest inspector Jahangir Kabir was informed about the videos, he collected all kinds of evidence and filed the case in court.

Wildlife inspector Jahangir Kabir said the case was filed on Monday 3 February and the court has issued summonses against them. Their trial will proceed according to the law, and "we are hoping for the maximum punishment", he said.

In one video, Al-Amin is seen holding a heron and saying: "Special people are coming to my house. Birds have been brought for them. Herons. Beautiful-looking white herons. But not much meat."

Al-Amin then asks his mother: "Mum, who will you feed these to?" His mother replies: "I will feed them to my son-in-law." Al-Amin asks again: "Will you roast them whole or cut them up?" His mother says: "I will roast them."

Al-Amin then tells viewers: "There will be roast heron at our house, guys. Come over and eat roast."

In another video, content creator Tuli is seen taking a wild duck out of a chicken coop, saying: "Look what my father caught and brought from the beel." Another girl can be heard in the video asking: "What is this?" Tuli replies: "It's a duck bird."

Meanwhile, the duck, with its legs tied, struggles to break free from her hands.
