The Fertilisers Radish Needs for a Higher Yield

For a good radish yield, farmers should apply urea, TSP, MoP, gypsum and borax at the right doses and at the right time.

Crops

Radish is a popular vegetable grown in almost every part of Bangladesh and is one of the main vegetables of the rabi season. Rich in vitamin A, it needs the right fertiliser at the right dose and at the right time to give a good yield.

Radish fields need urea, TSP, MoP, gypsum and borax. For a good crop, each hectare needs 375 kg of urea, 225 kg of TSP, 225 kg of MoP, 100 kg of gypsum and 10 to 15 kg of borax.

At the final ploughing, apply all the TSP, gypsum and borax and half the urea and MoP. Scatter the fertilisers evenly over the field and mix them into the soil.

Divide the remaining urea and MoP into two equal parts and apply them in two instalments: the first three weeks after sowing and the second five weeks after sowing. Apply fertiliser to radish fields in the morning or the afternoon.
