The forest department has rescued a python that came down into a residential area of Raozan, Chattogram. It was rescued from the home of Bishu Barua in the Dakshin Baruapara area of Raozan's Kadalpur union around noon on Saturday (4 March).

Raozan forest station officer Pallab Kumar Saha said the python was then released in the nearby hills. It was 12 feet long and weighed about 30 kilograms, he said.

He said the python was rescued at midday from Kadalpur Dakshin Baruapara after local people informed them, and later released in a hilly area. It had come down from the hills into the village in search of food and was caught.
