How to Identify Pure Ghee, and Its Benefits

With many companies now selling ghee, here are three ways to check whether the ghee you buy is pure.

Daily life

Ghee is an excellent and nutritious food, so it deserves a place in everyone's diet to meet daily nutritional needs. With this popularity in mind, many companies have brought ghee to market as one of their products.

Many of us bring ghee home to meet the family's nutritional needs. But do we ever check how nutritious or pure the ghee we buy really is? Here are the right ways to find out.

How to identify pure ghee

There are several popular methods for telling real ghee from fake.

The palm test

If you are looking for a first, simple check, try this. Place a spoonful of ghee on the palm of your hand. If it melts with the warmth of your body, you can take it that the ghee is pure.

A laboratory test

Another way is a laboratory test, which can easily tell real ghee from fake. You can have it tested at any approved government laboratory in the country.

Heating on the stove

You can also check ghee on the stove. Put some ghee in a pan and set it on the heat. If the colour of the ghee changes and turns yellow, you should understand that you have been given fake ghee.
