PRAN-RFL Group and the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) have jointly held a tree-planting programme in Kaliganj, Gazipur. The programme took place on Sunday, 25 June, on the bank of the Shitalakshya river beside the RFL Industrial Park.

It was inaugurated by Commander M Samsul Alam Mia, BN (retd), executive director of the RFL Industrial Park, and Abu Saleh Md Ehteshamul Parvez, deputy director (port) of BIWTA's Ghorashal river port. Coconut saplings were planted at various places along the Shitalakshya riverbank.

Samsul Alam, executive director of the RFL Industrial Park, said PRAN-RFL Group runs various programmes as part of its social responsibility. "To protect the environment, we regularly plant trees at the group's facilities and in different parts of the country. Such programmes will continue in future," he said.

Also present were Keramat Ali, assistant general manager of Kaliganj Agro Processing Limited, and senior officials of BIWTA and PRAN-RFL Group.
