Enam Uddin and Nazim Uddin in Muscat and Maruf in Salalah are among the expatriate Bangladeshis in Oman who have built remarkable success through hard work.
The soil of Hafa, an area of Salalah, is more fertile and farmable than elsewhere in the country. That is why Bangladeshis who came here for other jobs have found their real profit in farming.
From uncertainty to success
Life abroad is hard, and the fight to survive has many fronts. Neamat Ali now farms 12 bighas commercially, yet after arriving in Salalah from Rangunia, Chattogram, in 2008, he spent a long time in uncertainty and crisis. Farming gave him security, prosperity and success.
