Before the last depression had cleared, a deep depression over the north Andaman Sea and the Myanmar coast has made the Bay of Bengal rough. In a special bulletin on Tuesday, 29 September, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department told Chattogram and Cox's Bazar ports to lower distant cautionary signal 1 and hoist local cautionary signal 3. Mongla and Payra ports have lowered signal 1.

According to the bulletin, the deep depression moved north-northwest and was over the same area at midnight on 28 September. It could cross the coast over Myanmar near Kyaikto within the next two to three hours.

Sustained winds within 48 km of the centre reach 50 km an hour, rising to 60 km an hour in gusts or squalls, and the sea is rough near the centre.

Fishing boats and trawlers in the northern Bay have been told not to venture into the deep sea until further notice. For coastal fishers, that means no deep-sea fishing until the signal is lowered.
