A sleeping child named Anusa Ghosh has died of a snakebite at Collegepara in Singra, Natore. The incident happened at her home on Monday morning, 12 June.

Anusa Ghosh was the daughter of Basutosh Ghosh of the Collegepara neighbourhood.

Her uncle, Samir Ghosh, said Anusa had been sleeping with her parents as usual. At about 7:30am she screamed in her sleep, and her parents and other family members rushed to her. They found bloody snakebite marks on her leg. She was rushed to the upazila health complex, where the doctor on duty declared her dead.

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Singra police station, confirmed the incident.
