Natore district administration has fixed the dates for picking and marketing mangoes and litchis. The decision was taken on 7 May in the Deputy Commissioner's conference room after an exchange of views with the agriculture department, mango and litchi growers and depot owners.

At the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Abu Naser Bhuiyan said toxin-free mangoes must be marketed at the set times, and the administration would take strict action against any breach. Extortion in the buying, selling and transport of mangoes would not be tolerated, he said.

Under the meeting's decision, Gopalbhog may be picked from 20 May, Ranipasand from 25 May, Khirsapat from 30 May, Lakkhanbhog from 5 June, Mohanbhog from 15 June, Haribhanga, Fazli and Amrapali from 20 June, Mallika from 30 June, BARI-4 from 10 July, Ashwina from 15 July and Gourmoti from 15 August.

The local Muzaffar variety of litchi may be picked from 9 May, and the Bombai and China-3 varieties from 25 May.
