A housewife named Ayesha Akter, 26, has died of a snakebite in Lalpur, Natore. The incident happened at around 3am on 28 September at South Majhgram in Duaria union of the upazila. Ayesha was the wife of Zakir Hossain of the village.

Relatives said Ayesha went to sleep as usual after finishing her household work. Late at night a venomous snake bit her on the foot, and she woke up screaming. She died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Tofazzal Hossain, chairman of Duaria union parishad, said her relatives had told him she died of a snakebite.
