A mobile court has fined BADC fertiliser dealer Saiful Traders in Lalpur, Natore, Tk 50,000 after its stock was found not to match its stock register. The drive took place on Sunday afternoon at Chandpur Bazar in Kadimchilan union.

It was led by upazila assistant commissioner (land) and acting UNO Abir Hossain, who found discrepancies between the stock and the register. The fine was imposed under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009. Upazila agriculture officer Pritam Kumar Hore and members of the Walia police outpost assisted.

Earlier, a video showing the dealer's allocated fertiliser being carried by van to another shop in the Koyen area of neighbouring Baraigram upazila had spread on social media, prompting allegations that government fertiliser was being sold on the black market.

The upazila administration confirmed the mismatch found during the drive. Abir Hossain said such drives would continue to protect farmers' interests and keep fertiliser distribution transparent.
