Poacher Held With 32 kg of Deer Meat

A poacher was arrested in Mongla, Bagerhat, with 32 kg of deer meat and snares in a joint coast guard and police raid.

A poacher has been arrested with deer meat and snares in a joint forces raid in Mongla, Bagerhat.

He was detained in a raid in the Kanainagar area of Mongla around midnight on Tuesday (25 November).

Coast Guard media officer (Dhaka) Lieutenant Commander Siam-Ul-Haque confirmed the arrest.

The coast guard said the coast guard and police carried out a joint raid in Kanainagar, Mongla, arresting a poacher with 32 kg of deer meat, two heads, eight legs and about 2,000 metres of snares used for deer hunting.

The detained man was handed over to Mongla police station on Wednesday afternoon (26 November). The coast guard said such operations will continue.
