On this 2,700-square-foot roof, all the trees are large. Alongside fruit, flowers and vegetables, there are many ornamental plants. Asfia Sabina has been arranging it since 2017, and one notable feature is how neat, tidy and clean the surroundings are.
Inspired by her father
Her love of farming and nature goes back to childhood. Her late father, a Dhaka University teacher, was her main inspiration. Driven by her interest, she also regularly watched farming programmes on television.
Pineapple and grapes in the city
Seeing pineapple, papaya, grapes and many vegetables here, it is hard to believe it sits in a very important part of the city. Former Eden College professor Asfia Sabina now spends time here regularly, caring for every plant with her own hands. The produce meets the family's needs and also serves the need to protect the environment.
