A slow loris has left the forest and is roaming a human settlement in Mirsarai, Chattogram. For the past four days the animal has been seen in yards, on tree branches and on walls in the Madhyam Wahedpur area of Ward 6 of No 15 Wahedpur union in the upazila.

Zahed Kawsar, a resident of Madhyam Wahedpur, said a slow loris from the hills had been wandering through different yards for four days. Local people are giving it bananas, bread and other food. It is thought the animal may have come to the village from the forest for lack of food.

Mirsarai Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Zakirul Farid said he was not aware of it but would look into it. The animal may have lost its way and come into the village, he said, and if no one disturbs it, it may go back to the forest.
