A six-foot python and a monkey have been released into the wild in Mirsarai, Chattogram.

The animals were released at about 11:30am on Monday (28 April) at Tararghona under the Baroitakia beat of Baraiyadhala National Park.

Baroitakia beat officer Md Mamun, forester Arun Roy, sardar forest guard Md Ruhul Amin and forest guard Rabiul Islam were present.

Beat officer Md Mamun said the python and the monkey had been rescued by the Noakhali coastal forest division. They were released under wildlife conservation on the instructions of the Chattogram divisional forest officer. The python is about six feet long.
