A 15-foot python has been rescued in Mirsarai, Chattogram. Forest department officials recovered the snake on Monday (9 September) from a residential area of Chhattarua in Karerhat union of the upazila. The snake weighed 15 kg.

Local people said they spotted the snake beside the road in the morning and informed forest department officials. The officials then came and, with the help of local residents, rescued the snake and took it away.

Karerhat range officer Md Tarikur Rahman said the python had mainly been carried in by floodwater. "When local people informed us, we rescued the snake and released it into the deep forest of the Karerhat Sadar beat area," he said.
