The Meherpur district administration has announced the set dates for picking mangoes. The dates were announced after a meeting with mango traders in the deputy commissioner's conference room on the afternoon of Sunday, 12 May.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shamim Bhuiyan was chief guest at the meeting, which was chaired by Bijoy Krishna Halder, deputy director of the district Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE). Agriculture department officials were present.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shamim Bhuiyan said it had been decided, on everyone's advice, to bring the picking dates forward slightly locally.

Under the meeting's decision, Anti mangoes will be picked from 18 May, Himsagar from 30 May, Langra from 12 June, Amrapali from 22 June and BARI-4 from 24 June.
