The Mango Special Train is finally set to be launched. Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan will inaugurate the train at Chapainawabganj railway station at 11am on Thursday (8 June).

Md Obaidullah, master of Chapainawabganj railway station, said the railways minister was coming to open the Mango Special Train, which carries mangoes from Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi to Dhaka at low cost. He will inaugurate the service at 11am tomorrow.

The Mango Special Train will then leave Rohanpur in Chapainawabganj for Dhaka at 4pm. It will reach Nachol station at 4.20pm, Nizampur at 4.40pm, Amnura Junction at 5pm, Chapainawabganj railway station at 6pm, and Amnura Bypass and Kakanhat at 6.40pm. From these stations, traders and growers will pay Tk 1 and 32 paisa a kg to send mangoes to Dhaka.

The train will leave Rajshahi railway station for Dhaka at 7.30pm. It will reach Sardah Road at 7.53pm, Arani at 8.15pm and Abdulpur at 8.35pm. From these stations, traders will pay Tk 1 and 17 paisa to carry mangoes to Dhaka.

The Mango Special Train will leave Bangabandhu Bridge West for Dhaka's Tejgaon railway station at 10.20pm, stopping at Joydebpur and Dhaka Airport railway stations to book mangoes. It will reach Tejgaon at 1.15am.

The Mango Special Train had been due to start on the 20th of last month. But Chapainawabganj's mangoes were not yet ripe then, so the announced launch did not go ahead.
