Mangoes are being sent as gifts on behalf of Dr Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, to heads of state and government of several countries. Subject to flight availability, delivery of the gift mangoes will be completed in the next few days.

Foyez Ahammad, senior assistant press secretary to the Chief Adviser, gave the information on the night of Tuesday, 15 July.

The heads of state and government receiving the mangoes are the King and Prime Minister of Bhutan; the President and Prime Minister of India; the President, Vice-President and Prime Minister of Nepal; the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan; and the President of the Maldives.

In addition, mangoes are being sent as gifts on behalf of the Foreign Adviser to the foreign ministers of these countries and to the chief ministers of some Indian state governments, such as West Bengal and Tripura.
