Advocate Madhabi Marma, MP for the reserved women's seat of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, has distributed relief among 200 flood-affected families in Bandarban.
She handed over the aid on the afternoon of Tuesday, 14 July, at the Don Bosco Primary School ground in Bandarban municipality.
Each affected family received rice, lentils, oil, salt, dry food and other essentials.
"A humanitarian duty"
Speaking as chief guest, Advocate Madhabi Marma said standing by people hit by natural disasters was a humanitarian duty. The government is working sincerely to ease the suffering of flood-affected people, and the necessary support for their rehabilitation will continue, she said.
Assistant Commissioner Gopa Biswas, Bandarban Press Club president Aminul Islam Bachchu, local public representatives, representatives of various social and voluntary organisations and beneficiaries were among those present.
