Dhaka's minimum temperature today, Monday (20 January), is 16.9 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department says the day's temperature may fall slightly.

The forecast for the whole country until 6pm today says daytime temperatures may drop slightly. Light rain or drizzle may fall in some parts of the country, while elsewhere the weather may remain mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky.

Temperatures may fall further over the next two days, and there will be no significant change in the weather over the five days after that, the Met Office said.

The forecast for Dhaka and surrounding areas for the six hours from 7am says the sky may be partly cloudy and the weather mainly dry. Winds are blowing from the north or north-west at 6-12 km an hour.

An extension of a westerly trough extends to the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal and adjoining areas. A seasonal low lies over the south Bay of Bengal.
