Lal Sabuj Unnayan Sangha, a voluntary organisation run on tiffin money, planted saplings and distributed them among students on the grounds of Manirampur Government High School in Jashore on Wednesday, 16 June.

The event was chaired by the organisation's founder and central president, Kawsar Alam Sohel. Manirampur police station inspector (investigation) Sikder Motiar Rahman was chief guest, and the school's headteacher Tapan Kumar Das and senior teacher Kartik Kumar Halder were among the special guests.

The event was conducted by Maria Sultana Hira, president of the organisation's Manirampur branch. General secretary Gourab Saha and organising secretary Ovi Hasan were among the others present.

The organisation's members plant one lakh saplings every year, and this year they will again plant and distribute one lakh saplings across the country.
