Six-Kilogram Python Released in Kaptai National Park

A python rescued from a house in Rangamati Sadar has been released deep in Kaptai National Park.

A python measuring 7 feet 6 inches and weighing about 6 kg has been released deep in the forest of Kaptai National Park in Rangamati. Staff of the Kaptai forest department released the snake around midday on Saturday (20 May).

Kaptai forest department range officer Khandaker Mahmudul Haque Murad was present and released the snake. Also present were Md Kabir Hossain, vice-president of the Kaptai Press Club, forest guards Abu Bakkar and Gias Uddin, and other forest department officials and staff.

Earlier, at 7am on Saturday, forest department staff and local people rescued the python from the house of Nayan Chakma in the Mohsin Colony area of No 1 Pathorghata, Reserve Bazar, in Rangamati Sadar upazila.
