A python 12 feet 7 inches long has been released into the deep forest of Kaptai National Park in Rangamati.
The Forest Department's Kaptai range released the snake at midday on Monday 21 November. The Kaptai forest department said the python weighed 15 kg.
Forest Department staff released it into the deep forest in the presence of Rezaul Karim Molla, director of the Chattogram Forest Academy and conservator of forests. Kaptai range officer Khandaker Mahmudul Haque Murad, Karnaphuli range officer Anwar Hossain and members of the Forest Department were also present.
Kaptai range officer Khandaker Mahmudul Haque Murad said the python had been rescued from the TTC premises in Rangamati on Sunday 20 November.
