"Let my children grow up in the lap of nature." With that aim, an entrepreneur has created a rooftop space for farming, nature and recreation, and his roof has become a centre of varied production and delight.

Syed Abdul Quaium Khasru practised yard farming while living in Germany. After returning home, he dreamed of a rooftop garden while building his six-storey house in Kalabagan, Dhaka, and it has now taken shape as a multi-dimensional rooftop farm.

Fruit, flowers and vegetables grow here, alongside an area for hobby birds and safe shelter for wild birds. An automatic aquaponics system producing two kinds of output has been added.

The space in the middle of all this productivity is for family recreation, next to a family swimming pool. Together, the arrangements meet many needs for every member of the family.
