The Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation has rescued two jungle cat kittens that were caught by local people after they came to take ducks at a house in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar.

The kittens were recovered at midday on Wednesday, 9 September, from a house next to Abdul Wahab High School in Sreemangal.

Jungle cats came for the ducks at the home of Samar Modak beside Abdul Wahab High School at Laharpur. Hearing the ducks' cries, the household came out and saw three jungle cats trying to catch them. When the family tried to catch the animals, the mother fled, and two kittens were caught and held.

Samar Modak then informed the Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation. The foundation's director Swapan Deb Sajal and environmental activist Rajdeep Deb Deep went to the house and rescued the two kittens unharmed. They were then handed over to the Sreemangal forest range office.

Confirming this, Kazi Nazmul Islam, range officer of the Sreemangal Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division, said the kittens would be released into the forest.
