Jubo League chairman Professor Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and general secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil have opened a nationwide tree planting programme.

The programme was launched with a central event on the grounds of Kurmitola High School and College on Tuesday, 15 June.

Opening the programme, the Jubo League chairman said: "Responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, I urge leaders and activists of the organisation at every level across the country to plant at least one fruit, one forest and one medicinal tree each. Trees will not only give us nutrition but will also bring economic prosperity."

Also present were Jubo League presidium member Advocate Mamunur Rashid, organising secretaries Kazi Md Mazharul Islam, Md Saifur Rahman Sohag, Md Sohel Parvez and Moshiur Rahman Chapal, among others.
