Seven people have been injured by fox bites in a single day in Sarishabari, Jamalpur. The incident has caused panic in the area.

Rabiul Islam, residential medical officer (RMO) of Sarishabari upazila health complex, confirmed the matter on Monday (28 October) morning. The attacks happened on the evening of Sunday (27 October) in various areas including Mahadan union of the upazila.

The injured are all residents of Mahadan union. They are Shovon Mia (14), Moriom Begum (60), Parvez Mia (21), Selim Reza (45), Kanchan Mia (30), Barik (45) and Rashid Khan (60).

Local sources said a fox suddenly attacked people after dusk on Sunday, biting and injuring seven people including a woman. The injured have bite marks on their faces, legs and other parts of the body.

RMO Rabiul Islam said four of the injured went home after treatment. The other three were sent to Jamalpur Sadar Hospital as their condition was serious.
