Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has sent seasonal mangoes and litchis as a gift for BNP chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia and the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman.

Shamsuddin Didar, an official of the chairperson's press wing, confirmed the matter to the media.

Around 9pm on Monday (27 May), Golam Maula, a representative of Jamaat ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman, took the fruit on his behalf to Khaleda Zia's political office in Gulshan.

The mangoes and litchis were received on behalf of the BNP chairperson and acting chairman by the chairperson's private secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, Riaz Uddin Nasu and Mehedi.
