Fish farming no longer needs a pond, Shykh Seraj reports. Modern high-density technologies that need little space and low cost have arrived: the recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) and the even higher-density, novel method called biofloc.

Using these two methods, Imdadul Haque of Katakhali, Rajshahi, has set a remarkable example of success by farming fish indoors. Following developed countries, fish farming with RAS and biofloc has now begun in Bangladesh.

While experts are still researching these methods in many ways, Md. Imdadul Haque has arranged his own fish farming system with the two methods through tireless effort and dedication. Following this novel approach, he is producing more fish in very little space at low cost, and his success has amazed others.

For Imdadul Haque, the way forward is to keep advancing his fish farming through a close relationship with technology.
