A snake got into a house, and the family panicked. They immediately informed the municipal office, but a long time passed and no one came to remove it. Angered, a member of the family caught the snake himself and released it inside the municipal office.

The incident happened recently in Hyderabad, capital of the Indian state of Telangana. A video of the snake moving around the municipal office has gone viral on social media.

When citizens face problems, they contact the municipal office, but there are often complaints that officials do not turn up. People are angry about this, yet releasing a snake in a government office out of anger is rare indeed.

Several days of continuous rain have caused waterlogging in different parts of Telangana, and insects and snakes have become a nuisance. In one such flooded ward, a snake entered a young man's house, and he phoned the government office to have it removed.

A post shared with the video said a resident released a snake in the GHMC ward office at Alwal, Hyderabad, after officials failed to respond to his complaint, and that the snake had entered his home during the rain.

It is alleged that no one came from the municipal office even after a six-hour wait. So in anger the young man caught the snake himself and went straight to the municipal office with it, leaving officials stunned.

The video, shared on Twitter, shows the snake moving about on the table of a municipal official.

It caused a stir as soon as it spread on social media. Most people were astonished at the young man's daring. While many criticised such a dangerous act, some supported it, saying he had taught officials a fitting lesson for neglecting their duty.
