Bangladesh's exports of wigs and human hair have almost doubled this year compared with last year. In September of the 2021-22 fiscal year the country earned about Tk 67.29 crore from exporting wigs and human hair.
According to a report published by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), wig-related goods worth about Tk 67.29 crore ($7.87 million) were exported from Bangladesh in September this year, nearly twice as much as a year earlier. Exports in this sector in September last year were Tk 23.17 crore.
The export target for wigs and human hair last month was Tk 37.62 crore, so exports exceeded the target by 79 per cent in value.
From July to September of the 2021-22 fiscal year, wig and human hair exports totalled Tk 163 crore, against Tk 79.18 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
