Shykh Seraj gained huge popularity presenting Mati O Manush on Bangladesh Television from 1982 to 1996, a rare level of fame for a development journalist.

Channel i began on 1 October 1999, and on 21 February 2004, International Mother Language Day, Shykh Seraj began a different journey in agricultural television: Hridoye Mati O Manush. It is now widely praised and recognised around the world as a popular programme.

The greatest part of the Independence Award-winning journalist's achievements centres on farmers. In a report in the first episode of Hridoye Mati O Manush, he sought to show how deprived farmers are in the market, and how and why they are neglected.
