Rain has been falling across the country for several days, and three days of heavy rain have caused flooding in the Chattogram region. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department says the countrywide rain may continue for one more day.
The department gave the information in a heavy rainfall warning on 10 July.
Heavy to very heavy rain in all divisions
Under the influence of an active monsoon, heavy rain (44 to 88 mm in 24 hours) to very heavy rain (the warning gives 188 mm in 24 hours) may fall at places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions in the 24 hours from 10am on 10 July, the warning said.
Because of the heavy to very heavy rain, there may be temporary waterlogging in parts of Dhaka and Chattogram cities, and landslides at places in the hilly areas of Chattogram division.
