Fields, rivers and wetlands from around the country in mid-Hemanta, the late-autumn season, fill Prothom Alo's daily Glimpse for 25 October. These are its pictures of farming, nature and village markets.
Near the Sangu bridge in Bandarban, farmers bring their vegetables to market by boat along the river (photo: Mong Hai Sing Marma). At Nayapukur in Rangpur, a farmer harrows his field while coriander seed is scattered beside him (photo: Moinul Islam).
At Deyana in Khulna, a grower has planted okra along the bank of a fish gher (photo: Saddam Hossain). In Namaj village at Baneshwar, Puthia upazila, Rajshahi, date palm sap is boiled down into lali jaggery (photo: Shahidul Islam).
At Boro Pathar in Shajahanpur, Bogura, a man grazes sheep beside a field path (photo: Soyel Rana). On the City Bypass road in Khulna, Bimal Das and Basanti Rani have brought baskets, chicken cages and sieves bought in Abhaynagar to sell wholesale (photo: Saddam Hossain).
There are birds too. A flock of lesser whistling ducks has settled on a fish gher at Golaghat, Sreepur, Gazipur (photo: Sadiq Mridha). At Radhakantapur in Pabna, a band of drongos chases off a woodpecker that came looking for food, and at Charkomorpur, Dogachhi, late-autumn dew sparkles on the grass in the morning light (both photos: Hasan Mahmud). On the Bastuhara bypass link road in Khulna, a one-legged myna has company from another (photo: Saddam Hossain).
At Shaktola in Cumilla a passion flower (jhumkolata) is in bloom (photo: Abdur Rahman), and at Malgram in Bogura a brightly coloured butterfly rests on a green bush (photo: Soyel Rana).
