From the pictures Prothom Alo's photographers took around the country on 21 October, here in our own words are those of fields, rivers, nature and flowers.
At Sahajaddin Matubbarpara in Ujanchar, Goalanda, Rajbari, farmers cut Aman paddy that has ripened in the field (photo: Alimuzzaman). On the Phuljhor river at Raiganj, Sirajganj, men fish (photo: Sajedul Alam).
With the 22-day ban on catching hilsa in force, fishing trawlers lie at anchor at the Port Road ghat in Barishal; the fishers will return to sea when it ends (photo: Saiyan). Near Keane Bridge in Sylhet a kite hovers over the river hoping for prey (photo: Anis Mahmud).
There were flowers too. Purple railway creeper blooms at Schoolpara in Ishwardi, Pabna (photo: Hasan Mahmud), yellow rose mallow (sthalpadma) in a garden at Shaktala, Cumilla (photo: Abdur Rahman), and wild flowers among green leaves at Dhepochhari, Rangamati (photo: Supriyo Chakma).
At Amchharipara in Rangamati an insect is caught in a spider's web (photo: Supriyo Chakma), and at Tengra in Sreepur, Gazipur, a monkey stops to rest (photo: Sadiq Mridha).
The day's pictures of a winter clothes market, day labourers, autorickshaws on a road, a bearing shop, a rail blockade, tourists on Kaptai Lake and a religious festival are not included here.
