Trenton, a town in Ontario about 200 km from Toronto, is home to Canadian citizen Jessica Sherman, whose house sits amid wide greenery. She learned about farming from her grandmother as a child and has now taken it up herself.
From tomatoes to a rich yard farm
Three years ago she started growing tomatoes in her yard, and it has grown into a rich farming arrangement.
Why this series
The programme will feature farmers of different origins in this segment. Viewers have already seen yard farming by Bangladeshi expatriates, and many others were inspired by them. Staff correspondents abroad were asked to motivate people of different nationalities about Bangladesh's farming culture and build rapport, spreading positive messages about Bangladesh. Although these farmers were already interested in farming, they are more inspired seeing Bangladeshi food and farming practices.
