Apples, pineapple, bananas, grapes and avocado are five fruits that can help improve lung function.

Fruits

The lungs are among the body's most important organs, taking in oxygen from the air and helping to expel carbon dioxide. Today, however, air pollution and heavy smoking damage them.

That raises the risk of several diseases, from asthma to COPD, so it is important to take care before trouble strikes. A few fruits in particular can help improve lung function.

Apple

Eating an apple a day makes it easy to avoid several diseases, because it contains useful vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that directly improve health. What is more, an antioxidant it contains called quercetin also improves lung capacity.

Pineapple

Pineapple is very good for lung health. Its nutrients and minerals can restore lung health, and the vitamins stored in it boost immunity and keep several organs healthy.

Banana

This fruit is affordable and very nutritious. The potassium and fibre it contains are also very good for the lungs.

As a result, eating bananas lowers the risk of breathing problems. Eaten regularly, the fruit also keeps the stomach healthy and easily makes up for a lack of energy.

Grapes

Grapes are very good for the lungs. Their antioxidants flush harmful substances out of the organ, so the lungs can work properly. You can eat a set amount regularly, but people with diabetes should not eat this fruit every day.

Avocado

Avocado is a very useful fruit and a store of unsaturated fat, which reduces inflammation in the body and so improves lung function.

Problems such as breathing difficulty cannot come close. The fruit is also full of useful vitamins and minerals, which is why eating avocado goes a long way towards meeting the body's nutritional needs.
