As late autumn ends, farms across Bangladesh are getting ready for winter. This photo story gathers the farm and nature pictures from Prothom Alo's "Glimpse" round of 3 November.
At Purono Rajar Math in Bandarban, coffee beans are spread to dry in a yard in the soft morning sun (photo: Mong Hai Sing Marma). At East Aliabad in Faridpur a farmer tends his murikata onions in hope of a good harvest, and at Dayarampur in Gerda a housewife dries stored rice in the sun in her yard (both by Alimuzzaman).
At Bhati Nansri in Nikli, Kishoreganj, a farmer brings his ducks home along the haor at dusk on 2 November (photo: Tafsilul Aziz). At the steamer ghat in Barishal a trader has brought coriander leaves from Chuadanga (photo: Saiyan). At Lemuchhari in Rangamati, farmers' battered temporary huts stand beside a palm tree on an island in Kaptai Lake (photo: Supriyo Chakma).
Among the nature pictures: a fog-covered morning at Shingpara in Panchagarh (photo: Raziur Rahman); a wasp at a powder puff flower and a child gathering fallen shiuli blossoms at Mujgunni in Khulna (photos: Saddam Hossain); purple ruellia at Khorshotai in Manikganj (photo: Abdul Momin); a drongo waiting for prey at Gamari Bagan in Rangamati (photo: Supriyo Chakma); and a butterfly on wild flowers at Kundoil in Tarash, Sirajganj (photo: Sazedul Alam).
Onions being tended in the field, coffee and rice drying in yards and ducks on the haor show how busy villages are before winter. The round's pictures of workers' protests and other news are not included here.
