A Dua for Relief from Bodily Pain

Alongside treatment, Muslims can recite a dua taught by the Prophet (PBUH) for relief from bodily pain.

People can suffer pain in the body for many reasons. If one takes measures rather than worrying, Allah will heal. Alongside treatment, exercise or other remedies, one should also pray, and Allah will remove the pain quickly.

Uthman bin Abul As al-Thaqafi (RA) said he came to the Prophet (PBUH) with severe pain that had almost disabled him. The Prophet (PBUH) told him: "Place your right hand on the place of pain and say this dua seven times." (Ibn Majah, Hadith 3522)

Pronunciation: A'udhu bi-'izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru.

Meaning: In the name of Allah, I seek refuge in the boundless honour of Allah and His great power from the harm of this pain that I feel.
